like a laser

spring studying is just the worst. but this spring, more than any other since i graduated from high school (way longer ago than i care to contemplate), i cannot lock it down and get the tunnel vision i need to plow through. i mean, damn - the whole sorry operation is over in TEN DAYS. i'm one week from my first exam. and yet, i sit here blogging, which, while fun, is not studying. sigh. i know that this stuff matters, but it is SO FREAKING HARD to stay in the moment.

this is a theme in my life. i'm always either projecting forward or gazing back longingly. this time, it's really bad - in such a short amount of time, i get to go home. i basically live for that moment. but i have three more hurdles to clear before i can kiss this all goodbye, and i know this. so it's time to redouble my effort something fierce, and it's time to get in my head how important the next ten days are. these three exams are the keys to my escape. buckle down. one foot in front of the other. let's go get it. my way out relies on this...

  1. You know, someone once told me you should take a five minute break for every hour you study because it makes everything sink in deeper...so, you're being smart by taking the time to blog!

  2. thanks! i definitely need a little processing time after too much hitting the books. that's another reason why i don't study in the law library; crazy people everywhere, and no good way to take a break.

  3. All the more reason I'm terrified of grad school. I just don't know how to "study" or even be a student.

  4. it took me a good semester to shake off the rust. that is the nice thing about law school, though; part of the training is to break down your old ways of studying, reading, etc. and rebuild it in a way that suits the profession. it's tough, but once you get it, you get it.

  5. It's so hard to get in that zone. I'm procrastinating on school work right now. It's just too early and I haven't had enough coffee yet. At least, those are my excuses.

  6. Another high powered ball busting female attorney?

How original and creative you are to enter such an occupation?

Did you know there is currently a huge oversupply of lawyers in the USA? Hope ya can find a job when you are done.
